As those of you who’ve read several of my posts will know, I frequently mention Abraham-Hicks. I give them a lot of credit in terms of having helped me “get” this stuff. Abraham, for those of you who don’t know, is a group of non-physical entities who are channeled through Esther Hicks. I’ve also relied heavily on other channeled info, such as Seth, Orin, Chief Joseph and I’ve recently been introduced to Jeshua. And then, of course, I’ve had my own experiences with connecting to Universal Intelligence. I’ve had private conversations with all kinds of consciousnesses, including a few with Abraham themselves. All in all, a lot of my understanding comes from the non-physical world, and more and more, I’m getting my “education” directly from the source.
Because I’ve mentioned channeling on several occasions, many of you have sent me questions about this subject. I’d like to address the most common of these today.
“What exactly is channeling?”
When most people think of channeling, they think of an older woman in a turban and gold hoop earrings, rolling back her eyes, speaking in a strange voice and pretending to make the table jump around the room. It’s weird and mysterious and most people think it’s fake. And to be sure, not everyone who has claimed to channel (or be a medium, psychic, intuitive, etc.) has been on the up and up. Furthermore, the theatrics helped to sell those services in the past, so overt weirdness was encouraged. We’ve come a long way since then.
Everyone channels. Yes, even you. You channel all day long. Channeling is nothing more than translating non-physical energy through your brain and physical body, and then sometimes communicating that into something others can understand. The act of channeling itself is no big deal. When you get a hunch, an intuitive hit, an inspired idea – those are all examples of channeling.
Some people, through natural talent and/or loads of practice, have trained themselves to connect with and translate specific frequencies. The non-physical energy that’s out there is not inert. It’s not just a bunch of lifeless atoms floating about. There is a consciousness, an intelligence there and we can connect to it. We can connect to any thought that’s ever been thought, any idea that’s ever been had, past, present and future. We can connect to anything our imagination can conceive of and beyond. It’s really all just a matter of training ourselves to access specific frequencies, as well as translating them in ways that others will understand. When someone does this well, we call them a psychic, medium or channel.
“I love channeled information, but how can I know that it’s real?”
A lot of people ask me this question. They resonate with what they’re hearing, but they can’t get past the weird factor. Is the channel faking it? Are they simply putting on a great show?
Let me answer to this with another question: Who cares? Honestly, if you resonate deeply with the information, who really cares where it came from? Your mind may demand credentials and proof that the source of the information is credible. That’s because your mind is incredibly insecure. It looks for rules, for confirmation, for other’s approval. If society says something is ok, if they have deemed someone credible through certifications or stamps of approval, then the information they are providing must be good. If not, well, we’d better disregard it. We don’t want to go and believe something that will make us look like idiots, right? Your mind will always take the safe route. It’s governed by fear, by logic, by black and white. Your mind doesn’t understand dreams, passion, love, joy or euphoria. Your mind wants nothing to do with emotions and feelings or anything it can’t see, touch, taste or smell.
But your intuition does. Your intuition knows better. It will tell you when something is “true” for you or not. You will feel a deep resonance with that information, a feeling of recognition, like you’re being reminded of something you already know but have forgotten. And when you have that feeling, who cares what the source of that kind of information is? Does it really matter if it is truly channeled or if the person is just really wise? Does it matter if they are spinning a story using their imagination if that story helps you? To me, it doesn’t.
In the early days, when I was just starting to read channeled information, I also doubted whether or not it was real. That thought was just a little too out there for me. But I couldn’t deny how much the channeled information appealed to me, how true it sounded to me, how much sense it made and how much it helped me. And so, I focused on that – does it feel right? Accept it. Does it feel off? Throw it out, even if it comes from a really “credible” source.
“Does the Person who channels get taken over by an entity?”
Different mediums work in different ways. Some go into a full on trance, while others don’t seem to change at all. From what I’ve noticed, the full on trance type of channels are becoming more rare. I think this is because it’s becoming easier for us to allow ourselves to access those higher frequencies. In order to allow a high frequency to flow through you, you have to get out of the way. You can’t control the flow, censor or judge the information that’s coming through, or try to “help” in any way. You have to mentally step aside and just let it flow (this is what takes the most practice). For a lot of people, it’s easiest to do that if they completely get their minds out of the way and go into a trance. But, as the global energy rises and we all get closer to higher and higher frequencies (and as a result, become more allowing), it’s becoming easier to stay conscious while fully letting the energy to flow. This will vary from person to person of course.
So, whether or not the channel remains conscious during the session, is determined only by their own ability to allow the high frequency to flow. One isn’t necessarily better than the other, they’re just different ways of accomplishing the same goal. In either case, it’s the channel who opens themselves up, connects with the higher frequency, allows the information to flow and then translates it into words or actions. Someone who channels (and remember that we all channel) may speak the information, or sing it, write it, paint it, sculpt it, or dunk a basketball. In all cases, we have to allow the flow of energy through. There is no way that an entity (and there are no entities, really, there is only consciousness) can overtake a human being or animal and force them to do something on their behalf. You have to be a willing participant. Every time.
If you’ve ever had the experience or heard of someone having the experience of those who have transitioned using birds, animals or insects to communicate with the living, you may think that the dead person “used” that animal to do its bidding. And they did, kind of. But the bird, animal or insect still had to be a willing participant. Luckily for us, they generally are. Non-humans are a lot more cooperative, in general, than we are (mostly because they don’t give a crap what the other non-humans or even humans think. They just go with the flow.)
“Is all channeled information coming from a higher source?”
No. Channeling simply means connecting with non-physical energy. It does not necessarily mean connecting with something helpful. How can you know the difference? Well, by the way the information feels to you. There’s never any danger that channeled information is “evil” or will lead you astray. If it feels awesome to you, then this particular information is good for you. If not, disregard it.
Remember that you are manifesting your reality and everything in your experience has been drawn to you by you. And this includes channeled information. This means that when you happen upon some channeled information that rings your bells, it’s a manifestation of yours. Usually, it’s the answer to a question you’ve been asking.
The key is not to trust any information simply based on the source. Always use your own intuition to guide you in what to accept and what to dismiss.
“Do you have to be enlightened to channel?”
Absolutely not. Again, the act of channeling is simply connecting with energy. It doesn’t just become channeling when you connect to higher frequencies. Your own vibration will always affect the range of frequencies you have access to. This doesn’t mean that a miserable bastard can’t access higher intelligence. But it would represent a quantum leap for him and he would be profoundly changed by the experience.
But the top of the range of what any person can access is limited by where their own vibration is. And as that person raises their core vibration, they will have access to higher and higher frequencies. If you want to talk to Abraham, for example, you’d better be in a really good place to start.
So, in order to access really high frequencies, the person doing the translating does have to have a pretty high vibration. This doesn’t mean, however, that they’re going to be perfect or saintly. They’re still going to have some resistance, experience contrast and make mistakes. And that’s perfectly ok. If they dropped all of that, they’d be, well, dead.
“How can someone channel on demand? How does the non-physical know when to show up?”
The non-physical consciousness doesn’t show up. It’s always there, broadcasting like a radio station. We’re the ones that have to tune into the signal and we can do so any time we want.
For example, when I coach, I connect with the client’s higher self. For all intents and purposes, I channel. I also often channel when I write. I don’t have to wait for that energy to become available to me. All I have to do is to ensure that I can access it. If I’m having a bad day, or I’m frustrated about something, it becomes much harder. If I’m relaxed and in a happy shiny place, it’s super easy. And as time goes by, it gets easier and easier (I’m happy to share some of these personal experiences with you if you like. Just tell me what you’d like to know in the comments). I have to tune my own receiver to the frequency I want to translate.
Time and space don’t exist in the non-physical. So Abraham, for example, is ALWAYS available for Esther and anyone else to connect to. In fact, several people could connect with the consciousness known as Abraham at once, and it would make no difference. Again, it’s like a radio station – the signal isn’t impacted by how many radios are receiving it.
I hope this has given you a better understanding of what channeling is. If you still have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask them in the comments. And as stated, I’m happy to share some of my own personal experiences with you, if you like.
If you found this post valuable, please share it on FaceTwitStumblebook or whatever. 🙂
Just want to thank you a million times!!! For the work you do, the amazing posts you write, and simply for being here on this earth!!
Warm Hugs!!
I am just beginning to accept my own abilities to channel Spirit, and I feel like I’m going crazy. So I ask for signs to prove the spirits are real. When they fulfill their end of the bargain, though, I still question my reality! I’ve got a LONG way to go! Thanks for your blog!
You’re welcome Mai. It takes time to build up that trust. It didn’t happen for me overnight, either. Stay with it. You’ll get there. 🙂
Huge hugs,
Melody
How do you let this happen?
I had an experience once when I was a very little girl, getting clear instruction on a very important issue with the family, and what I had to say and do. There were also other voices, that didn’t seem so friendly and they were laughing, and seemed to come from the edges of the ceiling.
I didn’t telll people about this as it seems like schizophrenia, and as I got older I believed I had experienced a psychotic episode and that had a great impact on how I viewed myself as a crazy person.
But it scared me, and I never, ever, wanted to hear that disembodied voice again and luckily I never did.
But now I wish it would come back and give me such good advice in my life right now, minus the floating laughter.
I don’t repeat this story, as I still think it makes me insane to society, and don’t want to encourage ANY voice to just float in.
Hey Hey Big Spender, (ha! Sorry, couldn’t resist)
First off, yeah, I wouldn’t repeat that story to those not “in the know”. They won’t get it. We do, here, though. 🙂
You were translating non-physical energy. But you weren’t focused purely on a high vibration. So, you got a bit of the high level stuff and a bit of the scary stuff, too. You can fix that by getting into a high vibration before you try and receive. Your fear is natural and you can get around it by setting the intention to only receive when you’re attuned to your higher self. Then, next time you’re in a good mood, meditate a bit, get quiet, ask a question and listen. Just wait for it and see what comes. The trick isn’t usually getting something, but trust that you actually did and not dismissing it as your own voice. Over time, you’ll learn to trust it more and it’ll get louder. But remember – you can’t hear an answer or solution you’re not ready to hear. They can’t fix your life for you. They can advise, but you still have to implement, and that, again, takes trust. 🙂
I hope that was helpful.
Huge hugs,
Melody
Hi Melody,
Very interesting subject! So when psychics are able to look into the future, are they only seeing where you are going based on your current frequencies, vibrations etc.? In other words, since there is no destiny & we can manifest at any moment, can’t what they predict change at any given moment based on our personal manifesting power? I was thinking that if this were true, psychics are likely to stay right because many people will start to truly believe what they hear & thus manifest it. This thought has often led me to stay away from psychics (hearing something negative & believing it). At the same time, I thought it could also help you if you hear you’re on the wrong path & can change it, but I have no idea if anything I’m saying is valid so I’ll stop there & let you clarify lol
You’ve pretty much got it, Mike.
A psychic can see what vibration you are most aligned with and what events are coming into your life that match that. If you use that information to change your focus, you will change what you are attracting and prove the psychic “wrong”. If you use what they’ve told you (true or not) to focus in a negative way, then you might prove them “right”, even if they weren’t even reading your energy. Your focus in the key.
So, are psychics valuable? I think they can be, if they are also teachers. If they show you how to use the information they are reading to move towards what you want, then they can be very valuable. Otherwise, meh…
Huge hugs!

Melody,
How do you tune in to the person’s higher self when doing a session with them? Of course, you are in a higher vibration and shinier place than most people, and don’t say “What’s this person bitching about this time?” when they do a session with you. Some of us live in places where this is the dominant vibration- sheer bitchiness, yet, it can be soothed with a happy, shiny person who makes then laugh, which is what I do with my encounters with civil servants and that is how I get my job done, such as re-newing a Learner’s permit!
I would also like to ask, sometimes when I listen to Abraham or follow a divine liturgy in church (during the chanting in the Greek Orthodox Church) or sacrament, such as a baptism, I cry. Is this emotional outburst me experiencing relief from resistance or the higher vibration at its highest form in that moment? I feel it does exist in church during the liturgy, but people are oblivious to it and I am the only one crying. I so feel, though.
Hi Kat,
In a nutshell, I connect with Who I Really Am, and look at the person with that perspective, which then allows me to connect with the highest version of them that I have access to. Then I translate the energy from that perspective into words. They will then hear whatever they are ready to allow. Often, I have to prepare them vibrationally before they can hear any of it, but their inner being helps with that, too.
When you cry, you are releasing resistance. You have just connected with an frequency that’s a bit higher than what you’re used to and your body is having a reaction to that shift. It’s a good thing. And yes, you can definitely find higher frequencies in church, if you’re in the vicinity of them. Not everyone is, but they are not your concern. What they do or don’t do has nothing at all to do with what you are capable of.
Huge Hugs!
Melody
I appreciate the statement here …

… overcoming fear and logic is a tough one for me as I am always analyzing everything. I was introduced to channeling and tons of other esoteric thought more than 30 years ago but completely dismissed it as my ultra conservative Christian upbringing couldn’t make sense of it and, at the time, it was deemed heresy. Oh, the time that’s been wasted when I could have been doing something with it all. I am very glad I’ve been drawn back into and and so excited to have found your blog and all the information. I’m soaking it up like a sponge as fast as I can read it and it’s great 🙂
Thanks for the reminder in your answer to someone else that we draw to us those who need to work with us. I know I’ll soon be working for myself and need to remember that to remain confident when I step out into that.
Thanks!!!!
Hey Debi,
Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m so glad you’re finding so much value on this blog. That’s really what it’s here for. 🙂
Huge happy shiny puppy hugs to you!
Melody
Hey Melody
The link I’m assuming is Supossed to be connected to the word ‘HERE’ isn’t working?
Apologies Catherine. It’s all fixed now. :o)
Hey Melody
Interesting post I think I read it earlier and then came back across it again .
So channelling and talking to your ‘spirit guides’ is the same thing ? Does each individual have their own guides or is it anyone can connect to any guide?
I’ve read that meditation is the best way to speak with your guides or higher self , but meditating normally sends me to sleep hmm I don’t think snoring is very good when trying to talk to anyone . How did you learn to distinguish and push aside your ego?
Hi Catherine,
Yes, talking to your guides is a form of channeling. Meditation simply allows you let go of resistance, which then allows you to connect to higher frequencies. It’s a tool, and a really good one, but not the only one. You’d be a good candidate for guided meditations or simply very positive visualizations. Also, you don’t have to lie down to meditate. If you set the intention to connect with your guides, you will find a way.
I’ll have to answer your other questions in the blog post I’m writing about guides. There’s just WAY too much to explain. But I promise to publish it ASAP. 🙂
Huge happy shiny puppy hugs!
Melody
Yay another awesome blog I look forward to it! guided meditations sounds interesting I’ll look that up
I did just review an awesome guided meditation program. You can read it HERE.
Hugs!

Hi Melody! I love this blog entry. Actually, I really love your blog. The LOA has been the single, most power, thing in my life. I would have never become a psychic if I didn’t utilize the LOA principles. I actually come from the belief that anyone can become a psychic and even a medium if they just point their consciousness in the right direction and believe. If you believe “I’m afraid of astral entities attaching”, guess what, there’s a good chance of that happening if you are strongly holding onto that belief! It’s all about intention and the power you give it. What are your thoughts?
Hey AJ,
Great to meet you! And welcome to Deliberate Receiving!
You are absolutely right. You can only have the experience that matches your vibration. The non-physical is filled with all kinds of energy – all the thoughts that have ever been thought, both negative and positive. So, if you’re in a dark place, or coming from a place of fear, you will manifest whatever matches that. And that includes when you’re “channeling”.
Having said that, I still believe that we are always in control and that nothing can assert itself into our reality without our permission. I don’t really believe in negative entities (it’s ok for you to, I just see this a bit differently). I think that when people have these experiences in the astral field, they are hooking up with negative thought forms and energy snapshots (like photographs or imprints left behind after a traumatic event). In either case, the person doing the connecting will be a match to the experience, just like in the physical (if you have fears, they may manifest in the non-physical).
If, however, we come from a meditative space, have already raised our vibration and set the intention to connect to our highest selves, we will connect with the highest possible energy we can allow. It all comes down to intention, as always. I’ve never had a negative experience myself. I’ve been scared, but that was always due to my own assumptions and fears of the unknown. That happens less and less now, though, because my level of trust is much higher. But every time I reach a new level, there’s the potential for a bit of fear until I get used to it.
So, um, in short, yes, I believe anyone can be psychic and channel. You got the long answer, though. 🙂
Happy Shiny Puppy Hugs!
Melody
I totally agree! I also don’t believe in negative energies, just some fun little astral critters who are attracted to lower vibrations.
I have never had a bad experience either. Certainly nothing negative. So glad to meet some new peeps 🙂
I have to say that your pictures get me every time and I find my self drawn into the questions they pose. I think I will have to go a little deeper into the channeling area to fully understand.
Thanks Steven. This is a subject that may take a little while to get comfortable with, but if you’re willing to be open to it, you’ll get more and more clarity. 🙂
Huge hugs!
Melody
A lot of mediums talk about listening and following your “guides” but I really don’t know who that is or how to connect with them. Any advice?
Dee
Hey Dee,
I’ll be publishing a post on guides within the next couple of weeks. That should answer your questions. 🙂
Huge hugs!
Melody
Hey Melody,
Amazingly interesting post, as always. Channeling has always intrigued me. I’ve read a bit about it and based on what you’ve explained above I think it’s clear that there’s a gap between what the general public perceives of channeling vs what it really is. That’s why I like the way you use the word “guides”…because in the end, that’s what it really is, right?
A lot of people think channeling will point them in the right direction or bring them back on the path to their true destiny when in fact, there is no true destiny. We make our destinies, right here and right now. We have unlimited choices, none are wrong and none are right, they’re just what we make of them. It’s just that channeling may guide you to an easier or quicker route, or a path that takes you to your goal with added perks along the way.
I’ve had this problem before when trying to base decisions on my intuition. Sometimes, especially when a situation has an ample number of pros and cons, it’s just impossible to listen to your intuition and pick one. A and B both have their upsides and lead to a good future. But they also have their downsides. This is when I figured that both A and B are really what I make of them. Both are equally awesome as long as I maintain a high vibration and focus on the positives. In cases like this, I guess channeling can be used to comfort or help make decision-making easier, instead of pointing you in the RIGHT direction, since there is none. Does my logic make sense? Correct me if I’m wrong. 🙂
I need to ask though…do we HAVE to channel to get guidance? If I were to just be happy, and hold a high vibration, and enjoy life on a day to day basis by focusing on the positives, wouldn’t that mean that I’m still channeling positive energy while being oblivious to it?
Hey Derrek,
When you’re looking at something with your intuition (as opposed to logic) you are not looking at upsides or downsides. You are simply going by how each choice feels. Does one feel better than the other. That’s the one you want to go with. If both feel the same, you are absolutely right. Make a choice and then line up with it. Feel good about what you’ve chosen and it’ll be the right one.
And you’re right. There’s no such thing as destiny. There’s only what we want and what we don’t want. That’s it.
Getting guidance is a form of channeling. Your intuition (your gut feeling) is a form of channeling. Living is a form of channeling. You can’t not channel, but you can be more or less aware of it and get clearer or less clear signals. So, you can’t NOT channel.
But, you don’t have to be conscious of it. If you are just happy, you would naturally follow intuitive impulses that would keep you moving towards more and more happiness. You might not be aware of it, because you never had to make a conscious decision, or the decisions you made were so easy and obvious, and it was all so easy, but you’d still be channeling. 🙂
I hope that answers your question.
Huge hugs!
Melody
It certainly does, Melody. In fact, when has it NOT answered my questions? 😉
Hi Melody and Everyone,
This is interesting stuff! Thank you for explaining it so clearly, Melody. I used to be fairly skeptical, in a kindly but unbelieving sort of way. I’m fascinated that you said that as a person’s vibration rises, they become more and more aware of channeling. That has certainly happened for me.
I also like your broad definition of channeling. For me, it’s often not so much an experience of a specific entity communicating but more like an idea gently clarifying or suddenly bursting open. The awakening often comes after yoga.
My strongest sense of an entity is a very old dog I helped euthanize. We sat in the sun as the tranquilizer took effect and I gave him Reiki as he passed. He told me afterward that he would help me out with animals, and he has.
The other ever-present entity is my own soul! I don’t know if this counts as channeling?! But having her keeping me company all the time is incredibly supportive and validating.
Thank you for a lovely post, Melody! I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy – awww! Giant panda spirit hugs!
Mary Carol
PS The dog-spirit says hi too – woof! He’s a brillliant red cocker spaniel whose name I never learned so his name to me is DOG.
Hey Mary Carol,
Of course it’s channeling when you talk to your higher self. These are all just different frequencies if you will, but it’s all channeling. 🙂
It’s so awesome that you have a doggie translator! I think I want one of those, although I don’t work with animals currently (I totally miss it). Hmmm, something to manifest?
Panda hugs, eh? How about baby porcupine hugs! Ha.
Melody
Hi Melody,
That’s very good that you clarified what channel really is in this post. A lot a people see “connection” with the non-physical as “bad news”. As it is often the case, the media doesn’t help, showing those TV shows of haunted houses with wicked spirits and all that stuff. No wonder all this can be so confusing for people out there.
It’s very interesting that you mentioned animals channeling. A while ago a friend of mine told me a true story about a lady who had lost her son in death. The nick name of her son was Fox. Not long after his death she saw a fox in her garden staring at her for a few second and then just left.
When he told me that story that was quite extraordinary, I thought. I couldn’t help thinking about it when I was reading your post.
Thanks for this, Melody 🙂
Hey Sylviane,
That’s an awesome story! Non-physical often uses animals (who willingly cooperate), birds and insects to communicate with humans, and they do it in a way that is personal and unmistakeable to that particular human. So, it’s no coincidence that your friend saw a Fox. It’s the departed’s say of saying “Yoohoo! I’m ok! I’m having fun and getting foxes to play with me!” How great is that?
Huge hugs!
Melody
Thank you, Melody. I’ve had feelings about this for many years yet most people don’t believe when I tell them what I know. Either they don’t believe at all or they can’t imagine that I am capable of the skill. Thank you for bringing the subject out into the open.
Hey Glynis,
There are a ton of people on the internet that will believe you and will be able to share their own experiences with you. You can start with the community on this blog. My readers are freaking awesome. 🙂
Set the intention to meet like minded people and to let those whom you could help come to you (you don’t get to choose them. Let those who are a match to you this way find you), and they will. Promise.
Huge hugs!
Melody
Hi Melody,
I’d like to comment on the following:
Everyone channels. Yes, even you. You channel all day long. Channeling is nothing more than translating non-physical energy through your brain and physical body, and then sometimes communicating that into something others can understand. The act of channeling itself is no big deal. When you get a hunch, an intuitive hit, an inspired idea – those are all examples of channeling.
I think you can apply this to all of life, even to physical energy which after all is nothing but a dense form of energy which we interprete into living forms or objects. Our brains constantly make selections out of countless frequencies that our senses receive and decide what to pass on to us as sights, sounds, smells etc. So you might say living is channeling all day long and when you start channeling non physical energies as well you are only broadening your scope and getting more adept at fine tuning. Actually I feel I am channeling this information as well though I have not the slightest idea where it is coming from. But that does not really matter as All is One anyway. Mostly my channeling gets triggered by something, like the quote above, which makes me focus on something.
Love,
Anny
Hey Anny,
You nailed it. We are channeling just by living. But we’re not aware of that, and so we often make a distinction between translating with our physical senses and tapping into Universal Knowledge. It is the same and it’s just as easy, once we get the hang of it. Mostly, it’s about overcoming resistance (trying too hard). The more I get out of the way, the easier it becomes for me to let the information flow. In that state, I can easily write several coaching mails in a row with no effort. I’m not even aware that I’m “working”. Or I’ll knock out a blog post in an hour. Or I’ll say just the right words at just the right time to help someone have a life changing insight. It’s very humbling, really. The more my ego gets out of the way, the more helpful I am. The more “I” try to make it happen, the less effective I become and the more effort I have to put in.
And isn’t everything like that?
Smooches!
Melody
Hi Melody,
The more I think about it, the more I think that we are always saying the same thing, no matter what subject we are talking about. Because we are getting nearer unity all the time. We are only looking at things from different angles, but the essence is the same. Does that make sense?
Love,
Anny
It makes perfect sense Anny. And how awesome is that?!?!?!
You know, I’ve had that experience with people, even when we were coming at the subject from vastly different views (which you and I are not, just saying). It’s amazing how you can see that even when two people seem to be taking completely different roads, they can end up in the same destination. 🙂
Huge hugs!
Melody
Helleo !
Ok so i have something to share. When i was nine or ten i was working on a school project on ‘Buddhism’ and was making the cover page for my report. I remember i was writing the words ‘Buddhism’ in this large fancy font and i went into a trance like state. I dont know how to describe it, except that it felt like i wasnt guiding my own hand, and ‘something’ else was. I ended up making this beautiful cover page with such perfectly shaped letters in some random font that i had never done before. And somehow i got this perfect color scheme for it. I just ‘knew’ the colors i had to put in the picture and dint even have to ‘decide’. I still remember this experience cuz really, the cover page dint look like a 9 year old made it ! the hand that drew the font was way too steady and the strokes too precise for a 9 year old. the picture was so perfect that i always kept that cover page with me and marvelled that ME had actually made it.
after that i always tried to recreate the experience and go into that trancey state again. but i coudlnt. i even tried weed when i grew up but it dint help. it made my hands shake when i treid to draw. and over the years i stopped drawing totally. then i became a bitter person and went into deep depression .
im 24 now, and i got into the whole abraham thing a few years back. it took me very long to get the hang of it though.
but anyway, if ive done it before, i CAN do it again right? i mean, it hasent been ‘taken’ away from me right?
now that i think of it, did i ‘pinch’ things off cuz i tried too hard to recreate? also as time passed i got more and more frustrated that i wasnt getting anywhere near it.
also, so many years later i NOW get the coincidence that my trancey thing happened when i was drawing the letters ‘Buddhism’. its just..strange !!
Hi Ishib,
What a wonderful example! You were definitely connecting to a higher frequency there. You sort of stumbled into it when you weren’t paying attention, which is often how it happens the first few times. And yes, you pinched it off by trying too hard to recreate it.
Notice the conditions under which that event happened: You weren’t trying to make anything happen. You were probably in a meditative state, relaxed, not really stressed about anything. You were in the state of allowing, just letting it flow. And that’s the state you want to recreate. You don’t MAKE it happen, you LET it happen. Those two states feel very different.
The following post describes this state: http://www.deliberateblog.com/2011/12/20/the-secret-behind-the-secret-how-we-manifest-reality/
Don’t stress about it. Why not draw again, just for the fun of it? Why shut that outlet down if you enjoy it? When you things for the fun of it, not because you have an agenda, you are much more likely to slip into that fully connected state.
Keep on feeling better and better! :o)
Huge hugs!

Hi Melody,
I just had to leave you a comment on this post! I recently (within the last 3 weeks) have started fiercely reading books on channeling. I had read a post on Angela Artemis’ site where she interviewed Patti Foy, who is gifted and well-known for her channeling abilities. When I read that interview post there was something so strong inside of me that just screamed “This is something for me! This is right for me!” I’ve always listened very closely when my intuition screams that type of feeling to me, so that night I went and purchased an eBook on channeling that Patti had recommended in the interview for anyone wanting to learn. The woman who published it actually communicates with Orin and her co-author communicates with his guide, and all four of them collaborated on ways that would be helpful & beneficial to anyone wanting to learn channeling. It’s a great book! I also started reading another book called “Your Spirit’s Gift” that has been absolutely amazing and fascinating to me…another book that just gave me the feeling that I just HAD to read. 🙂
I loved reading your post, and how you pointed out that it isn’t the mind we should be following on things like this…we need to listen more to our hearts. It’d be beneficial for us to listen to our hearts more often in a lot more things through life. Our world today is way too “mind” set in how we make decisions…
I absolutely love reading your posts and everything you talk about! (You, your content & posts also brought my intuition to life when I started reading all the things you offer…) Thank you for all the positivity you help spread with your posts, and for all the kindness & guidance you bring with your words! 🙂
Hey Cassandra,
Thank you so much for your kind words. *blush*
For me, the information we get directly from non-physical (as in, we are aware that it is coming from non-physical) is generally more “pure”. It hasn’t been as corrupted by our filters. That’s not to say that the channeler doesn’t add his or her personal biases to the translation. That does happen, and when we use our own intuition to guide us, we know what to accept and what to leave.
People who channel provide a really valuable bridge to help those who don’t connect that clearly yet “hear” that information. The ultimate goal is to hear it ourselves, of course. 🙂
Huge hugs!

I have my own experiences but it is always wonderful to read another person’s experiences with channeling and how the journey has been like for him or her. Your blog post is indeed very validating and just what I needed to read about today. Letting of doubt has been a big thing for me and I continue to work on it, in order to peel off the layers. I also like that you said that we don’t need to be enlightened to channel. It’s all about aligning vibrationally.
Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome Evelyn! Thanks so much for stopping by! That doubt was the hardest thing to overcome. It took me years, mostly because I didn’t have access to the internet or a network of people that I could talk to about this stuff. Things have gotten so much easier now that we can reach out to each other and compare notes. 🙂
Huge hugs!

Wow. I was just thinking about this yesterday. I love the Abraham-Hicks stuff, and used to wonder whether it was “real” or if it was just a really well orchestrated scheme. And then, a while back, I decided that it didn’t matter. It’s hard to explain how I feel about Abraham stuff, but those books are just so awesome (especially “Ask And It Is Given” — I think that’s their best one, but it’s also the first one I read) that it just doesn’t matter where it came from or for what reason. It just matters that it is out there for people to access and learn and grow and *become* from.
Hey Nathalie,
Exactly! I found, when I let go of the idea that other people could tell me if something was valid or not and just listened to my own guidance, it freed me up to learn from a lot more sources (and a lot more sources came into my life). I also started dismissing information that didn’t resonate with me, even if it came from “credible” sources.
We are the best judge for what our own personal truth is. No one else gets to decide that. 🙂
Huge hugs!

Thank you!!! I’ve been struggling with this question and specifically the Abraham-Hicks information for a while now. I love what they say but how do I know it’s not just a “scam” or fake. You’re right – WHO CARES! If it feels right to me, makes sense to me and helps me with my journey, then who cares where it is coming from. I will soon be seeing them (Esther and Abraham) in person for myself and I think that will help answer any remainding questions about them that I may have. Thank you for this post!
Hey Karen,
You’re so welcome. Ooooh! How exciting. I hope that you’ll share your experience with Abe with me! I can’t wait to hear all about it. 🙂
Huge hugs!
Melody
I agree! You really do a great job the way you explain things. This was so helpful!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Thanks Leace! Glad to see you here. 🙂
Huge hugs!
Melody
Thank you! That’s EXACTLY what I needed to know. I’ve asked every intuitive I know and that was the best answer I’ve gotten by a hundred miles 🙂
You’re so welcome sweetie! And thanks for the awesome compliment. 🙂
Huge hugs!

How did you get to the point where your vibration was high enough to channel other people’s higher selves?
Hey Jenapher,
Well, I suppose that’s a blog post of its own, lol. But here’s the short of it: It was a progression that took years. For a long time, I didn’t even want to acknowledge that I was translating energy. I was afraid and I ignored it and pushed it away. I had to release a lot of resistance just to get to the point where I could even think of trusting my own guides. As I raised my energy over the years, sometimes through circumstances, and finally deliberately (that’s when things sped up a lot), I began to have more and more guidance from non-physical. I started consciously connecting with people’s guides in Peru. I spent a week training myself non-stop. It was quite difficult at first and even after that week I still often tried to censor what was coming through (I cared too much about it being helpful), so I’d pinch it off. The biggest thing that I had to learn was that I didn’t get to choose who I would connect with. Just because a friend was in trouble, didn’t mean that I could bring forth the solution for them. I have to let those encounters happen.
Start by connecting with your own guide and go for there. The clearer those messages come through, the clearer you’ll get others. It’s just a different frequency, the ability is the same. I’ll publish some techniques in the future.
Also, you can raise your vibration on an ongoing basis by simply paying attention to how you feel and not being willing to stay in a bad place. Keep looking for better feeling perspectives and over time, you’ll make HUGE changes to your vibration.
I hope that helps. Thanks for the awesome question. I’m certain that I’ll blog about this in the future.
Huge hugs!
