I’m so excited about this month’s content! I’ve been working on this insight for a while, and it’s finally coming together in a cohesive picture. I truly hope that you’ll get as much out of this explanation as I am. Ok, so we’ve been talking for years about giving and receiving. The giving conversation has been around not giving too much, not sacrificing, setting boundaries, etc. The receiving conversation has been about allowing others to give to us, asking for what we want, and feeling worthy. Today I’d like to offer a thorough and technical explanation of the mechanism behind giving and receiving.
Why do we want to give? Why does it sometimes feel bad and sometimes feel good? Why do we keep giving even when it feels bad and isn’t working? What, exactly, is giving? Why do we have such a hard time receiving? Why do some people take all that is offered and demand more? What, exactly, is receiving? While we’ll definitely be touching on some of the biggest limiting belief systems around both giving and receiving, today’s focus will be more on the mechanism, the technology, if you will, behind them. Mostly, because I find this kind of exploration truly fascinating, but also because I think understanding the mechanism actually helps us understand our beliefs and therefore ourselves.
