As 2012 is coming to an end, I find myself preparing for my customary end of year ritual. At the end of every year, I set aside some time and prepare myself vibrationally for the year to come. I generally do this while on my annual New Year’s Spa Holiday, because that’s an environment that just makes it so damn easy for me to be in a high vibrational state, but I could just as easily do this while sitting on the couch at home.

The purpose of this process is threefold:

  1. I take stock of where I am in terms of manifestations and vibration. What have I accomplished so far? What did I successfully line up with in the past year? What did I learn?
  2. I create my plan for the coming year (a bit like goal setting). What do I want to manifest going forward? Have my plans changed from the last year? If so, how? I stop and regroup, so to speak, to make sure my priorities match my desires.
  3. I take the time to align with the plan I created.

Of course, the end of the year isn’t the only time I do this kind of review. I constantly pay attention to what I want and whether I’m moving towards it or not. I’m aware that desires change and grow, and that each manifestation I line up with has the potential to make we want to move in a new direction I didn’t even see before. But for me, this end of the year review is like a strategic planning session, where I outline the general direction in which I want to go in every area of my life. It creates the underlying structure. The details of how I want to fill that structure in might change, sometimes drastically, but the underlying core desires don’t really shift all that much. This end of year process is about the big picture, and it sets me up nicely for the whole year.

Isn’t this just goal setting?

So, you may be wondering why I bother doing this. Isn’t this just like goal setting? We all kind of set our intentions at the beginning of each year (they’re called New Year’s resolutions), and that doesn’t seem to work all that well. How exactly is this different?

Here’s how: I don’t just intellectually decide on a few arbitrary tasks that I want to do or stop doing, which don’t have much to do with what I really want anyway. No one wants to quit smoking. They want to quit smoking for a reason. No one wants to go on a diet. They don’t even want to lose weight. Losing weight is a means to an end. I focus on my core desires.

And (and this is the real difference), I get myself vibrationally aligned with what I want. I do the energy work. It’s not about taking action or depriving myself of something or being disciplined or forcing myself to do something. It’s about using my true power. And that, ladies and gentlemen, works like gangbusters. Manifestations just come flooding in at the beginning of the year, thanks to the energy work I do on my holiday. I create a massive amount of momentum that I then just have to keep going. I other words, I do the work and then my only job is to not get in the way.

There’s a reason why I take time out of my busy spa holiday schedule of sauna and facials and massages to sit and do this process. It freaking works. Ready to hear all about how I do it? Of course you are. Here we go:

Step 1 – The Year End Review

Now, when most people do a kind of year end review, they look at what went right over the past year for about two milliseconds, and spend the rest of the time looking at what went wrong. “Let’s dissect where we screwed up,” they say, “so that it never, ever happens again.” Fair enough. That’s one philosophy, but it’s not one supported by the Laws of the Universe. When you understand LOA, you get that focusing on your mistakes and on the outcomes you didn’t like just brings more of those to you. In other words, if you spend the majority if your time looking at how you screwed up, you will create more opportunities to screw up in the future. I like to take a different approach.

  1. First, I take a look at my list from last year.
  2. I review which items I manifested. I spend some time remembering all my amazing manifestations, really appreciating what went right and reminding myself of what a powerful creator I am. This is not only super fun, it really raises my vibration and puts me in the perfect position to do some world class manifesting.
  3. I briefly review which items I didn’t manifest. Some of these items didn’t manifest because my focus shifted and they are no longer important to me. I just drop those. The rest generally didn’t manifest because I have some resistance that’s blocking them. In that case, I almost always ended up releasing at least some of that resistance during the past year. In other words, I look for progress of any kind, not just finished manifestations. I point out to myself how much closer I am to getting what I want, how much better I’m able to feel about that subject, how far I’ve come in the past year. Then, I bask in the glow of all those accomplishments, the full manifestations, the partial manifestations and the releasing of any resistance.

At this point, I’m generally in a fantastic mood. I might take a couple of days to do this exercise, remembering all the triumphs from the past year, going through my journal and looking for accomplishments and things to feel good about. Notice how very different that is from looking at myself in the mirror and lamenting that I STILL want to lose ten pounds, or STILL haven’t cleaned out the basement or whatever.

Step 2 – Planning 2013

I’m now ready for step number two – planning the new year. This is not a To Do list and it’s not a traditional list of goals. As I already said, this is more of a strategic plan and it’s very much created with LOA in mind. I make a list of all the major areas of my life, for example:

  • My Business
  • My Love/Sex Life
  • My Family
  • My Home
  • My Body/Health
  • Adventure/Just for Fun

I then set the strategy that I’d like to follow for each of these areas. By strategy, I mean the basic end goal I’d like to achieve in the next year, and how I want it to feel. Remember that we’re looking at core desires here, not super detailed to do lists. How detailed I ultimately get depends entirely on how much resistance I have in that area. If all is going well, I can get more specific. My vibration on that topic is clean and the specifics feel good. If I have a lot of resistance and I’m nowhere near to what I want, I have to stay very, very general. Trying to define details would just trigger my fears around not knowing how those details would come about and my memories of not achieving those details in the past. That would align me more with the resistance than with what I want. Bottom line: The plan I come up with has to feel really, really good. If something feels off, I back up a little and scratch off the details.

So, using my example list above, let me break down how I might come up with my 2013 plan:

My Business: Since my business is already going really well, and I feel great about it and my ability to keep growing it, I can get more specific on this topic.

Very general would be: “Keep growing the business.” That feels great. But I can get much more specific than that and still feel great.

So, I try: “Take my business to the 7 figure level in 2013.” Hmm, that makes my stomach feel a bit weird. Is it possible? Yes, sure. But it feels just a little bit too big. How about “Take my business to the $500.000/year or higher level.” Yes, that feels good. It’s still a stretch goal, and I have no idea at the moment how I’ll do that (but that doesn’t matter), but it feels exciting and only a little bit scary.

I add a few more details to my goals, just because they feel good:

  • Get my website redesigned professionally and make it look kick ass!
  • Get into Kindle publishing
  • Build up the membership site

Notice how none of these goals contain the HOW. It’s not “Build up the membership site by doing this or that.” Nope. I just state my intention.

But, how do I choose my intentions? I start with what I want – to grow my business. I figure out why I want to do that. In my case, I want to reach as many people as possible and give them a chance to turn into Happy Shiny Puppies (if they want to). I love the idea of playing on a bigger playground and connecting with tons of people. When I sit with that intention for a while and let my energy align with it, I start to manifest more details in my vision. I see myself publishing books, but that feels a little further away. Then, the thought popped in: “Publish a Kindle book!” and it felt awesome. I saw myself searching in Amazon and finding my name there. It felt doable and close and fun. THIS is how I choose my general intentions. They are built from my daydreams and thoughts that feel really, really good.

Let’s use another example, one where I can’t get as specific yet:

My Home: I love my current apartment, but I feel like it’s time for the next phase in my living arrangements. So, I’ve decided that I’d like to move this year. In this case, I’m not yet entirely sure what I want, so my intention list is more a list of criteria (built by listing the opposite of what I don’t want).

I want

  • a three+ bedroom apartment (one bedroom, one office and one guest room)
  • two bathrooms, one with a large bathtub
  • a large terrace or garden
  • central heating and air conditioning (the AC is not as important as the heating), and insulation/good windows so the heat actually stays in the house (can you tell that it’s a lack of current heating that caused me to put this on the list?)
  • etc, etc, you get the  idea.

Notice that the location of the apartment is not listed. Why not? Because I don’t really care. I want to live somewhere with nice weather, and I adore Barcelona, but I’m also becoming aware that my criteria for where I want to live is changing. I love the idea of having more nature around me. Do I want to live in the country side? Not really. The idea of that brings up resistance, so I back off. I love the city. There’s an apparent paradox there, but I don’t worry about that. I know that the Universe has the ability to bring me what I want, and that in this moment, I’m not clearly able to define what I want for myself. When I try, I get all frustrated and start to list all the reasons why this or that won’t work. This is where trust comes in. I don’t even try to figure out where in the world I could live that could offer me everything I want in a place to live (the criteria I’m conscious of as well as the stuff I forgot that I want, but still want). I focus on those few bits I can clarify for myself and mostly decide on how I want it to feel.

So, I see open windows, clean, warm air flooding in, birds singing, something green (could be a rooftop garden, a real garden or a forest), loads of light and space, peace and serenity, etc. I only fill in the details that I have easy access to (like the fact that I want a guest room and an office, so I want at least three bedrooms), and leave the rest, like location, if it’s a house or an apartment, if it’s a city or a town, etc, to the Universe. It knows exactly what I want. I don’t have to define the details, I just have to get into the feeling. And any details that help me to get into that feeling make it on the list. Everything else is irrelevant.

Step 3 – Alignment

If I’ve done Step 1 and Step 2 well, then Step 3 is a breeze. All I have to do is to take some time and focus on each of the areas I’ve defined. Then, I create a vision out of the intentions I’ve set, which should be easy, given that the intentions generally are borne out of a visualization exercise in the first place. I take at least 30 minutes per area (but usually much, much more) working up a vision that gets me all tingly and makes me want to punch the air and do a happy dance. Again, if I’ve properly raised my vibration using my manifestational accomplishments from the last year, this is easy and fun.

So, taking my business as an example, I might see myself at my desk, where I do all my work, smiling and laughing and doing my in the chair happy dance that I so often do while on the phone with clients. I could see myself writing (no details) and feeling incredibly inspired, with the words just pouring out of me onto the page. I might see my Kindle books doing really well, causing more and more people to come back to my (now newly designed and kick ass) website. I could see them benefiting in some way by coming over, by buying a program (no details in my vision, but I know they’ll be there), a book, some coaching or signing up for the coaching call subscription program. I could see myself meeting some of my readers face to face, giving out happy shiny puppy hugs like candy. If I sit with this vision long enough, and I do, loads of really fun images come to mind. I stay there as long as I can, playing with the visions. For example, I had this idea to create short, animated movies featuring the bullshit fairy. I got about 45 minutes of giddy laughs just thinking up funny things I could make him say and do. I know I’ll make more videos in the future and that I’ll almost certainly bring more humor into them. Again, when I’m vibing high, I can play with the possibilities for ages and have a fantastic time.

The Payoff

The whole time I’m doing that, I’m adding energy to my vision, which is my focal point for aligning myself with what I want. In other words, the more energy I add to this vision, the easier it will be for me to find it and focus on it going forwards. And that’s really the point of this entire exercise.

This process of defining what I want to focus on and putting enough focus on it so that the energy of it grows large enough to suck me right in when I get anywhere near it, ensures that if any doubts come up in the coming months, I’ll have a strong, stable vibrational base to stand on. Let’s say that in my quest to publish a Kindle book, I hit a snag. I try to figure out how to fix it, and in doing so, I focus more on the problem than the solution and I get really frustrated. All I have to do is decide to think better feeling thoughts. If I wasn’t in the habit of doing that, I might have a hard time finding a positive spin on this subject. But, since I’ve taken the time to practice my awesome feeling vision enough to make it strong and stable, the second I decide to feel better, that vision comes into focus and off I go. Weeeeeee!

Do you now see the value of this year end process? I take some time out of my holidays, when I’m relaxed and it’s easy for me to get into a high vibration, and I use those good feelings as a platform from which I can easily create strong, stable, positive energy visions of what I want, which will make it easy for me to stay focused on my desires and not get swept away by silly resistance. Whereas I normally spend a few minutes focusing on each area of my life, I use this off time to spend hours doing so. I then become a super charged manifesting magnet.

Do you want to set yourself up as a supercharged manifesting magnet, too? Give my little process a try. Let me know how it feels (I consider this one of the funnest things I do all year and I look forward to it like a kid going to Disneyland). I can’t wait to read your comments. 🙂

  • Hi Melody,

This is great! Thank you for sharing your personal examples. I can feel your energy just reading the post! I especially like the focus on the emotions I want to feel, because it feels like less of a pull out of living in the present. It’s like saying, I like this so let’s get more.

You’ve inspired me to try exactly this process, and see how it works for me. Woohoo! Can’t wait!

    Hugs and hugs,

  • I read recently that we should engage in personal development for about an hour a day, preferably after waking up in the morning or before turning in for the night. Now I understand that this is helpful in laying out the foundation for the vibration of day, just like you did, Melody for the year. This makes sense and is a good practice.

    • It’s helpful to get the big picture perspective now and then, Kat. We get so locked into the details. And we don’t really need to do that. If we line up with the energy of what we want, the details will come on their own. And they will be fabulous! 🙂

  • Fantastic post, Melody!

It’s very great how you’ve taken your readers into the details of your year review/goal and how you do it from the inside out.

Great reminder that focusing too long on what didn’t work would be worse than a waste of time but a real spoiler according to the law of attraction.

Congratulations on your success of 2012 and I’m sure you’ll shine in 2013!

  • Okay, Everybody, I did the whole exercise last night and it was amazing. I know you’re supposed to spend hours and hours, and I did spend a couple of hours reviewing the past year. But then when I started to think about 2013, it was so simple that the words just poured out, and I had the whole plan in maybe five minutes.

So… HIGHLY recommend you do the process. It’s amazing to look back and see trends. That’s what happened for me. I had listed events and emotions in one-liners with dates, and looking at the year compacted that way, the trends emerged so clearly.

And then having done the ground work, the future unrolled easy-peasy and perfect! Wow!

Huge hugs to everyone! And giant thanks to Melody for sharing her awesome process!

    Mary Carol

    • Thanks so much, MC for sharing that and reminding us! That is awesome! I am lifted by your vibration!

I still vascillate between a high and a not so high vibration, due to anger on certain topics, but I work on not being so attached, like you had said, and continue to focus on the high. At least ? am aware of all this stuff.

      Super duper hugs,
      Kat

      • Hi Kat,

The rising vibration is bringing up uncomfortable emotions for a lot of us. The Universe is saying, time to release!

I did an exercise a couple of days ago for anger and resentment, and it really helped. I wrote out a page full of resentments with no editing. Serious stuff and even silly stuff. For example, I have sisters who are twins, and I realized that I resent not being a twin! The key is not to edit anything.

Then, after lining up with a genuine desire to release, I burned the page in the backyard fire-pit. I didn’t feel a giant whoosh with lots of tears or anything. But I went to bed, and when I woke up in the morning, the feelings of resentment and anger had evaporated.

I felt instead a giant desire for everything to be all right for everyone in the world. I felt and feel like a two year old, truly believing that the world is beautiful and wonderful, and that all bad things are an aberration that doesn’t belong here.

        Hope this helps. Huge hugs,

        Mary Carol

        • OK, MC. I quickly typed out a page of anger-provoking things, with typos and all, printed it, and ripped it up into little pieces with my own hands. I do not have access to a fire pit, although I wish I did, as I think it would have been more effective, but it is the same thing.

Have you heard of “worry dolls”? My sister had given me a basket of tiny dolls you can all fit in the palm of your hand. It is Guatemalan tradition. You basically take a frustration, transfer it to the doll, and put each in the box. There are 5 of them. Then you close the box with the lid containing all your frustrations and forget about them. the basis is the same.

          Thanks again!

      • Hey MC,

I have run into a snag. We are owed money from an office that can be used to pay off a balance to another office under the same umbrella, after which the first office can just return the rest owed to us. However, they are hesitant. My husband is now pissed, feels taken advantage of, and thinks we will never see that money again, when last year he did not care about it. This got me feeling a bit angry, too, which I released with the angry letter technique you discussed.

I send the people at the office love. I am really friendly with them over the phone, even joke about this, but nothing has been done. Would you have any input to this type of situation? I deeply appreciate it.

  • Thanks for posting this melody..u make it sound so simple and so much fun..and so…professional !! Its like training to be a professional dreamer 🙂 I’ve been superlow the past few weeks, and ur post really cheered me up. Ccurrently I work at a job that gives me blocks of free time now and then as ‘ waiting time’ for doctors(my customers). I’m gonna utilize it to think of 2013 instead of getting bummed and being low over events that inspire aforementioned low feelings !

    • Hey Mopey,

Yes! Any downtime you have, waiting in line somewhere or on clients can be used for dreaming. It’s the perfect opportunity to focus on what you want, or just anything that makes you feel good. And you’ll be surprised how fast those few minutes here and there add up. You’ll be feeling better in no time! 🙂

      Huge hugs,

      Melody

  • Hey Melody!

I think you listed some important things to do when looking back at 2012. That’s to be proud of what you’ve done, and more importantly, to see how you (we) can push ours selves even more for next year. I am definitely much better off than I was in 2011, and I am looking forward to setting that bar in 2013.

Also, I wish you a congratulation on winning the 2012 Personal Development blog!

  • Focus Pokus Focus Schmokus – there’s the enemy. I’m always all over the place.

I’m doing ok with plenty smaller things. Fun project here or there, takes some time but gets somewhere awesome eventually. Some hang on my wall right in sight, so i don’t forget.

The bigger things, like finances and that perfect place to live… more like running against a wall. Still, got a nice image of the place and some possibilities acting all shy. I’m with you on the heating and functioning windows 🙂

Focus is a weak spot. Don’t know if that’s all it is. Kicked a lot of resistance out. Lately i often see “don’t give up now, have confidence, hit the doubts in the butt with the door and keep going.” Maybe that means something.

Most resistance is the same old spot. Don’t know what it is exactly. The thing i love most scares me most. I know i can do it, could take it to a whole new level. But i hardly go for it. Doesn’t make sense.
Repeated goal/plan/nameit – Get out of that rut and go wild, dammit!

Just done with the kickass website. Without much focus and without any bit of a plan. I like it. Goes live on Friday. Yay~
Goal – keep it going, feed it and make something of it. Lots of potential in this one.

Also there’s some career change that was inspired in part by that website. Is a draft now, needs review and could turn into something cool next year.

A head/desk moment of this year: after reading and listening so much Abraham i still didn’t get what “in the Vortex” really really means. Until i read one question on YT – if that was like what athletes and others refer to as the Zone. Simple answer: Yes.
I do that Zone thing a lot in certain areas. Felt like a total idiot lately?! Well, by now i added some more areas to that. Still not all, but hey, everything’s progress.

And look, i’m getting better at sharing. Something i learn here. Yeah, i blame you for this 🙂 Came here for the inspiration and reminders. Another good thing of this year.

So much for the review of another year. Progress on many things, still stuck in the same places. Big plans for more anyway.

To imagine what i could do with some focus. Anyone know a mentor looking for a challenge? XD

Btw it really feels like 2013 is going to be exciting and the most awesome things will happen. I’m all giddy when nobody’s watching. 😉

    • Hey Lucille!

Thanks so much for sharing where you’re at. If a dream feels too big, back off and go more general. Or reduce it just a bit until you can find a more comfortable level for now. You can upgrade later.

Whatever you can do to feel good, do it. And why not get all giddy even when they are watching? 😉

      Huge hugs!!

      Melody

  • I love how you broke this down, how you stay general with some of your goals. I’m doing that too. I think I’ve worn myself out with my writing and trying to make a writing plan that I always tend to overshoot. I need to relax and enjoy the journey, remembering this is a marathon, not a sprint.

There is a great site called FutureMe.org where you can write and send emails to yourself. I did this last year after making my goals list. I did this end of December / Beginning of January. I typed up a few emails, sometimes detailing them to an event like my birthday, sometimes just sending them for whatever reason I felt I may need a pick me up. They’re always encouraging and somehow tend to hit exactly what I need at the right moment. I plan to do that again this year. It’s cool to get an email from myself six months after I wrote it!

    • Hey Christina,

I love that idea! I’d use it not for manifestations (not directly) but rather to help me pick up my vibration. So, send really positive, encouraging reminders to myself that life is freaking awesome and I’m incredibly powerful and it just gets better and better. That sort of thing. Because if you feel good, you get what you want. 🙂

      Huge hugs!!
      Melody

      • That’s how I use it, Melody. I wish myself happy birthday, I remind myself how wonderful life is, how I’m living the wonderful, abundant creative life I want, how easily things are working out. It’s great to get one of the letters because even though I thought I would remember when I scheduled them, they always show up when I didn’t expect them. They always make me smile.

  • That a very inspirational post Melody! I am going to right on it – I realize that my thinking has been limited lately and I need to commit to living life larger. I know how I just get lazy.
    Riley

  • Hi Melody! Loved the article! Will you have this article translated into Spanish? I’d love for my mom to read it 🙂 She has read all your other articles in Spanish and she loves them!

    Thanks!
    Lorena

    • Hey Lorena,

Thanks so much. Right now, I’m not translating anything into Spanish anymore, but I will do that again in the future. It’s a great deal of work. A really good friend was helping me out and wanted to do the translations, but with the volume of work I produce, he got completely overwhelmed. I actually always meant to offer multiple languages, but not right from the beginning. It just worked out that some of the material got translated early. 🙂

So, espera cariño. The Spanish translations are part of the plan, just not right this second.

      Huge hugs!!

      Melody

  • All of this is fantastic, and as I write this, I shall illustrate how your goals are actually feasible, by doning the calculator of an optimistic accountant!:

There are a limited hours in the day, so even if you worked 12hour days coaching people like a machine gun, without rest, coaching maybe 8-9 people per day with short rests to read the question or stuff food in your face then pee for 2 seconds (no pooping, no time!!!)…That’s assuming the maximum a human of flesh and blood could do, almost like a machine…
    Then you’d earn about $2,125 per day x 5 days= $10,625 per week x 52 weeks (no holidays or spa) = $552,500…hmm ok that’s already 6 figures….minus whatever your bills are.
or 14,875 if you worked non-stop barely sleeping or eating for 7 days x 52 weeks (again like a robot with no breaks, illness or holiday)=$773,500

= 6 figures and that’s without rest, pooping, or chewing your food.

So let’s say you coached less people, so you can eat & sleep. The membership site is $27/month
That would be the possibility, because you don’t have to do anything, except let people sign up.
Then the money you don’t make from coaching comes from membership, so with enough members, the goal of 6 figures is feasible.

Kindle is not very good for the eyes, for long periods of time. The printed word has more density, and less of a strain. However short articles should be ok, and no more harmful than using a computer to read this blog. I wouldn’t recommend long kindle books, because this may be bad for the readers eyes.

As for the 7th figure, television, radio, and printed books could be the way.

I can see this being possible, and certainly earning $500.000/year!

As i type this, I also see free coching calls possibly playing a larger role, because of the win-win factor.
The more free coaching calls, the more call can be sold, thus expanding the membership site.

Your home is more than possible, as at that level of income the world is literally your oyster.
By that point, you could be earning so much you could put money into a high interest account, and have the means to eventually drop the price of your coaching, so that poorer clients could benefit, because you’d have several streams of wealth, and wouldn’t need to charge as much.

This would mean you would achieve all your goals, plus eventually become more accessible to everyone, and benefit humanity. Case closed!

    • Yay Cameo Accountant!!

You’ve tapped right into my vision. I’m certainly not going to coach 24/7, lol. Plus, by doing that I can only reach one person at a time. I want to do more. So, the coaching call subscription program, as well as group courses and books will help me do that, and bring up my income. And yes, as the income increases, so does my ability to serve more people for free or very little money. And that gets me super excited. I already love how I’m able to help those who really can’t afford my services with the free coaching calls. I love the win-win of it. I can see giving away “scholarships” to any of my programs in the future.

I adore how you broke it down, too. It’s all in how you look at it. For example, when I set the goal to bring my business to the 6 figure mark, that seemed huge. But when I broke it down to the monthly level, it became more accessible. It’s also possible that in six months, I’ll be able to really comfortably see myself making 7 figures. That is the goal, of course, but right now, it feels really big, so I’m leaving it in the future.

Thank you so much for adding your wonderful energy to my vision!!! You are actually helping me achieve it by doing that.

You get extra happy shiny smooshy puppy hugs!!!

      Melody 🙂

      • You are welcome! I’m so glad you loved it!

I used this name for fun, and also in case you got mad, as I’m spraying your financial information everywhere, and maybe you wouldn’t want that spelled out to others that might begrudge how wealthy you are, and can become.

I feel all puffed up and proud of this! 🙂 Thank you again!

  • Yay Melody, you’ve just made one of my not-so-private wishes look like it’s going to come true in 2013.

I’ve been REALLY wanting a book of yours on Kindle, not only to buy and read for myself, but to also give away as a gift to others.

Since that seems to be materializing so effortlessly (on my part), now I’m imagining my other non-Melody related desires for 2013 will come true just as easily breezily —

    Evan
PS: And thank you, your you-ness, for taking us through your intention setting as it relates to your biz and your home. Those details are what make it such a valuable and vivid lesson.

    • Hey Evan,

Yay! yeah, I figure the Kindle books will be shorter, with article length chapters, instead of big, novel type tomes. But Amazon does have the possibility to self-publish books in printed format very easily, so that’s a possibility, too, especially for longer books. I can totally see doing a combination of self and traditional publishing depending on the book in question (more and more people now since traditional publishing has benefits and drawbacks. Sometimes its the best option and sometimes it isn’t.)

And thanks for your kind words!!

      Huge hugs!!

      Melody

      • Perfect place for me to throw in a question I’ve been wanting to ask you, whatever happened to the Deliberately Thin book, you haven’t mentioned it in a while. I need that book Mel

        • Hey Catrice,

It’s still baking and not quite done yet. I’ve learned never to give out dates on something that isn’t quite finished. The book has essentially been going through a metamorphosis, and every time I think I have it, I learn more. The problem is in getting a large enough picture so that what I publish actually helps people. You have to be able to apply it. It can’t just be a diet or something, but a fundamental understanding of how we create our bodies and can change them. Needless to say, it’s becoming bigger and bigger and I’m not really in control of it. I just have wait until I’ve got enough insights to make it what it is. So, my understanding has to go way beyond my own weight issues and encompass enough so that y’all can apply the teachings. Hoo boy! Talk about an ambitious project! But anything less and I’m publishing just another diet book, which I have no interest in whatsoever. Sorry for the delay. But it will come in perfect timing, which means when we’re all ready to hear the answer. I’m listening, trust me. 🙂

          Huge hugs!!
          Melody

  • Hi Melody,

This is great! Thank you for sharing your personal examples. I can feel your energy just reading the post! I especially like the focus on the emotions I want to feel, because it feels like less of a pull out of living in the present. It’s like saying, I like this so let’s get more.

You’ve inspired me to try exactly this process, and see how it works for me. Woohoo! Can’t wait!

    Hugs and hugs,

    Mary Carol

    • Yay Mary Carol. And believe it or not, I didn’t even jack up my energy while writing this, or the post would’ve never gotten finished. When i get on a real roll, I just keep going and going. So, this was a very light version of the real thing. Try it. You’ll love it! The only thing better than this is when you get 2 or more people together who are all vibing really high and you create the vision together. Each person adding the whole, taking it higher and higher. Hmmmmm. Group manifesting retreats anyone? Can you imagine?!? I can! I can! Holy crap I’m in a good mood today. 🙂

      Huge smooshy hugs!

      Melody

      • I’m even more excited now than I was last night! I’m going to look back at our conversations through posts and comments, to follow my progress. Woohoo! You’ve played a huge part in my year, sweet Melody! Love the idea of doing this jointly. I’ll see if I can get a group of high vibe friends together – great idea!

Giant rescue puppy hugs – we’ve almost got our new logo, and then on to becoming an ‘associacion civil’ (Mexican non-profit). Yeah!

        MC

      • I literally laughed out loud at the thought of you being so energized that you never finishe a post. You’re adorable! And your energy is SO freaking contagious! I can’t speak for everyone but you most certainly help to raise my vibration on a regular basis! So a million thanks and hugs to you 🙂

  • Hi Melody,

perhaps you could find a place near an energy gateway, if you believe that such things exist. Or you could own places on multiple locations. Why choose only one?

Perhaps, you could find a specific kind of soil in the countryside to cultivate something (or have others cultivating for you). Or find a place with little pollution from lights so you can enjoy the night sky with a telescope. You could even bury something in the ground for the children of your children to find.

Thank you very much for this post. You have done all the thinking for us. That’s invaluable. I couldn’t even imagine a goal setting that feels good. My resolutions (and I thought I were quite good at this) were focused mainly on “pain avoidance”.

    • Hi Tony,

You come out with some really beautiful comments, I enjoyed reading this, thank you. 🙂
      Do you own a telescope?

      • thank you Alice! Yes, I do have one. Have you ever gone to meetings of local astronomers (amateurs and pros)? They gother in a field when something nice is about to happen in the sky, all relaxed and excited. The feeling is great and you can meet some amazing people

        • Wow, well I don’t have a telescope, and I’d have to build up confidence around going out (especially at night) alone, but yes, that sounds marvelous.

    • Hey Tony,

Actually, that’s the plan eventually – to have more than one residence. Maybe one in Europe and one in the US, or South America. As you can see, I’m not at the detailed stage yet, but I’m totally open and even enthusiastic about having more than one place to live. 🙂

Ooh, I love the telescope idea! Living in cities all my life, starry night skies haven’t been that big a part of my life. But I love the idea of sitting outside, possibly in a Jacuzzi, looking up at a night sky filled with stars. So, maybe a country home and a city home? Yummy!!!

Goal setting is a chore. This is not. It’s so much fun to pump up your vibration and then shape your future vision with it. You’re going to love it! 🙂

      Huge smooshy hugs!

      Melody

      • You are basically a pagan. 🙂

What pagans actually do is nothing like what the crazy propaganda of extreme fundamentalist dating back to inquisition times wants us to believe!

Still to this day there are misconceptions and lies about it!

Green Man= not Satan, he has horns because he is like a beast that lives in the forest and protects the animals. He had hooves to symbolize his connection with nature and the animals.
Not for some kind of evil doing.

Pentacle= again not Satan, it’s all the points of the compass, and the elements (frequencies?) just symbolic of all the elements in nature, heaven, Earth etc.

Goats are mountain animals, not evil animals.

There are paths as old as the Druids, monks, and pagans that practice visualizing, and that is what the combination of ritual bathing, meditation, and symbolic spell work is all about! Its alignment and powerful ways to focus get your mind into a magical place for manifesting.

That’s what you are essentially doing Miss Melody!

  • Hey Melody,

I knew you would go to a spa over the holidays! That’s great!

I think your site is already kick-ass, but if you visualize even more kick-ass, like being able to find posts more easily according to keywords, that’s even better!

“I constantly pay attention to what I want and whether I’m moving towards it or not.” This is my take-away message. I will surely review the process mentioned. But, more importantly, thanks for the reminder that each feeling and step is part of the overall process. That is where most get stuck. Everything begins with feeling better, I think.

    • Always Kat! I wouldn’t miss it! A week at a spa is like hitting the reset button for me. The great thing is that as my vibration has raised every year, the spas are getting better and better, too. I’m not sure how much better it can get, but at this point, they may feed and massage and relax me into a coma. I’ve certainly come close.

I’m not unhappy with the blog, but the main site (which many of you may not ever see because you come straight here) doesn’t at all reflect the tone of level of my business. I didn’t really care much for a long time, but now I do, and I have visions of something that doesn’t just reflect where I am now, but moves it further. Also, I’m aware that there’s so much content, and it’s not necessarily all that easy to find it all, so I’d love to make that aspect better.

Everything DOES begin with feeling better. That’s the key. If only we could always give ourselves permission to feel better, above all else. 🙂

      Huge hugs!
      Melody

      • Melody,

I LOVE hearing about your “spa retreat.” It makes me realize that I may be missing something there (lol)…I have never been to a spa in my life — haven’t even had a real massage for that matter (lol). I think I’m going to put that on my list of “desires” for the coming year — have a GREAT massage. 🙂

I’m pretty sure you know Farnoosh, right? From Prolific Living? I know you did an interview with her awhile back for her podcast… But I was just wondering if maybe you considered looking into her brother as an option for revamping your site? I’m pretty sure he does the technical stuff for her site (I’m not sure if that includes the design aspects for her site or not)…also, I know Leslie Samuel recently revamped his website to make it a little more “user-friendly” and had it professionally done. Sorry if I’m “stepping on toes” here by suggesting these two… you’ve just been such an amazing inspiration and help to me, I wanted to try and help you too. Hopefully you don’t mind too much. :S

Anyway… This was an amazing post! I hope that it’s okay if I email you soon…because I have a few questions. :S

You are an AMAZING person and inspiration…and I know there are amazing things to come in the future from you! THANK YOU for all you’ve done and for all you’ve given to us by sharing!!! 🙂

        XOXO,
        Cassandra

        • Hey Cassandra,

I adore going to the spa and I’ve converted a few people in my life. A few days of being pampered, with great food, everything done for me, massages, facials, sauna and loads of time to rest, think and talk, really recharge me. Also, just taking the time out to really reflect and let my mind process everything is invaluable. I tend to go 100 miles an hour, I need some downtime every once in a while to reassess and make sure I’m charging in the right direction. 🙂

I don’t mind the suggestions at all and yes, Farnoosh is a friend of mine. I adore her. I have already manifested a wonderful and talented web designer (LOA took care of it), but it’s always good to have a backup, lol.

And thank you so much for your kind words.

Sending you huge happy shiny puppy hugs!!

          Melody

  • I was expecting a list of things as you said but this technique seems exciting 🙂 At some areas of life especially about moving to another city and finding ”that” man I still have a hard time visioning. And I realised as soon as I think about them I am lost in the details.I will try it,even when reading I felt the relief of the visions:):) We all want many things but Feeling Visioning is the smartest thing I’ve ever heard in my life.I guess I have been doing it for sometime without knowing and couldn’t understand the cause of the short reliefs then.I guess I’m in and out of the vortex so often nowadays. Thank you Melody !! 🙂

    • You’re so welcome Aylin. When done properly, this technique is so much fun. That’s how you know you’re doing it right. You know how when you’re worried about something you might wake up in the middle of the night, from a nightmare or just worried? Well, when I really get into this over the course of a few days, I will wake myself up by giggling in my sleep. That has happened on more than one occasion. That’s right folks. Nightgiggles. You just have to love that.

      Huge hugs!!

      Melody

  • I read the secret in November 2011, and by the middle of this year I wanted to know and understand more. I remember searching the internet and I kinda found your blog in a matter of hours. My end goals haven’t all manifested yet but vibrationally I have moved up and up and up. Limiting beliefs are being replaced with OMG I can dare to dream now. The biggest and best thing this year was finding your website and being inspired to look listen and learn and do. I also (based on your blogs) spend time listening to Abraham. In the whole of my life I have NEVER felt this powerful and exicted about my present or future (not even when my Son was born) because that was pretty scary along with the immense joy of him – the whole time he was growing up.
Physcially I have been more ‘lazy’ emotionally ‘working all the time.’ 2012 with your guidance has been a ball. Thank you xxxxx

    • Melody!

Another awesome and insightful post! Perfect timing as usual!
I seem to be doing the steps you described in my daily routines but had no idea and have often wondered how long I should be visualizing and this is going to help immensely. In addition to your blog post, last night I was watching some Abraham videos and learned to try and hold visions/good thoughts for atleast 68 seconds, having thoughts lasting 17 seconds…it makes perfect sense when you think about how long negative thoughts can sometimes branch out into more negative thoughts. Great stuff, so happy and thankful!

      Marjorie

      • Hey Marjorie,

Yeah, the 17 and 68 second explanation really brought that point home for me, as well. It really made me aware that we so often just don’t put enough time into pure focus. WE think that we’re focusing on what we want all day long, but we’re usually noticing that we don’t yet have what we want. But just 68 seconds of unresistant focus is enough to turn all that around. Doesn’t that just make you realize how powerful we are? Can I get a Woooohooooo! Ha.

        Huge hugs!!

        Melody

    • YAAAAAY Lorraine!!! Your energy is inspiring! Isn’t this just the Best. Time. Ever?!?!?! I cannot wait to see what 2013 brings. It, of course, will be the Best. Year. Ever. Because it only gets better and better and better. So, no matter how awesome 2012 was (and it was pretty freaking spectacular!), 2013 will be even better. Oh hell yes! 🙂

Huge happy very shiny puppy hugs!

      Melody

  • This is a great post. I will definitely try your ritual. It’s great to have a written down process to go by, I tend to be too vague and unfocused.
Also, I used to also always be torn between city living and country living. Eventually I decided I wanted to live close to the city but surrounded by nature. And that’s how I’ve been living for 15 years or so. I love it! 15-20 minutes to drive downtown, but I’m surrounded by forest, creeks, deer, black bears, skunks, racoons and geese. If everything in my life was as great as my perfect home, I would be in heaven – or heaven on earth anyways.
Happy Holidays, Melody! Thanks for all the inspiration throughout the year. You’re awesome!

    • Thanks so much Luzia! I’m a total ocean person, I really adore living close to the sea. And so, I always thought my dream was a house on the beach. But for the last year or so, I’ve found myself really drawn to forests, the way they feel. So I’ve added that feeling to the vision recently. It’s very, very general, because I haven’t found a detailed way to incorporate it into what I want that feels right. I’m definitely not a living in isolation country girl, but I am starting to think that not living in a building with a whole lot of other people might be nice. It’s a big change for me. I’ve always loved city living, but who knows? I might turn into a country girl yet, lol. I like your compromise. Live really near a city (15-20 minutes is awesome), but have some space. Good job manifesting the perfect home!!

      Huge hugs,
      Melody

      • Yes, it was a great job manifesting this, but it was easy because there was no resistance, like you mentioned before. It was a thought like: why shouldn’t I live in a great place surrounded by nature and the city close by? There was no contradicting thought.
Also when I was a teenager I always thought I’d like to live near the ocean, but I also liked mountains, so now I live at the foot of a mountain and have the ocean about 100 meters away. I’m so lucky – or else good at manifesting! 🙂
Now to eliminate all the other thoughts of resistance about everything else in my life… My project for 2013!

  • Wow, Melody! Thank you for the specifics on setting goal-intentions. Now I know why I give up in overwhelmed frustration. I load up on specifics, instead of backing off to what feels exciting and right. Just off to start my own planning now. 🙂

    • You’re so welcome Fiona. That’s the thing that goes wrong the most often – we try to get too detailed before we’ve really lined up with the energy. If we just remember it’s about the feeling, not the actual details of the vision, we’ll remember to back off. 🙂

      Huge hugs!!

      Melody
